Well your question could draw some opinions that will conflict all day long but here is my take on this issue: Just about any ski will run reliably if you take care of it. Yamaha has gained a good rep for being reliable with the twin cylinder 633, 701, and 760 engines. Those Yamaha twins can take a lot of punishment. You asked out SeaDoo 951's and I do not find that there is any credibility to the claims that they are a grenade waiting to happen. I have owned a few and still own a few. I have never had a problem with my 951's that I didn't create. If you don't want the fastest ski on the water I would say any of the Yamaha twins would be a great choice. You can look at the Venture or Waverunner III if you want a larger family ride. The Blaster is a very fun ride for one person. The Superjet is the ultimate solo ride. If you fancy a SeaDoo the XPL is a fun ride. Test drive as many as you can so you know how the different models ride because they are all different. Hours are not a very good way of judging the wear on a two stroke watercraft. I compression check will tell you more. Better yet spring for 20 to 30 bucks and pull the head off so you can look at the cylinders and pistons.

Thanks joe
what i want to do with the jet ski is wavejump tow like waterski now and then and has to be a 2 seater. The GP800 1999 is twin cylinder jetski are they reliable. The one i am looking at has 130hrs on it. There not much different between gp1200 with speed. How many hours can a jetski do before a rebuilt.

130 hours is not real high but it is a considerable amount of time. If the top end looks OK it should be fine for another 130 hours. I am not fond of the GP800's. However, they are OK from what I have seen of them. How many hours?? that is a good question. I end up doing something stupid that requires a rebuild about every year on my watercraft so I don't know. I would say 300 hours is a lot but I have been told people have had them run 600 to 800+ hours. Check your local laws,,, many states mandate that you use a three up watercraft to tow a skier.
