hi friends,
does anyone of you are using anything like an ipod or walkman when riding the jetski? i can easily spend the complete day in the water, so, sometimes will be great to have some good rock & roll in your ears...

well, an ipod makes more sense than a walkman as it has not mobile parts and it can fit in a pocket in the pfd...

do you know if there is any device that you can connect directly to the jetski? I been thinking in use a normal ipod shuffle with batteries, but im worry about the salt in the water even when i will protect that stuff in a water proof bag..... also, something connected to the jetski will be a lot nicer and practical.

thank you

First I would like to point out that from a safety perspective being able to hear someone else's engine approaching might be a good thing.

But if you still want to rock...
I did a Google search for:
waterproof mp3
There are a few players available. One had 512 meg of RAM built in. The name brands like Nike sport ones say things like "splashproof". Don't think that would cut it.

If you encod your MP3 at like 96k that would be a lot of music. With all the background noise the 96k should be OK.

I can agree with that... i will prefer to be able to have some background music that cover totally my ears... but i dont think the battery of the pwc will support to add a radio and speakers... there is a lot of space below the seats and in the front of the jetski...

Hey! I just found someone that did it in a yamaha fx 140... almost the same as mine...

seems that there is no problem in install a car radio in the jetski, the only thing, is protect everything to do not get wet. this guy put pictures as well... he said that he can be in the beach listening his music for like 30 minutes without draining the battery... and i can not agree more with him, is a lot of idle speed, no wake zones in florida... and to arrive to a nice place, you need to ride sometimes at 4mph or less for quite a time...

i wont install a car radio... i will prefer an mp3 player.... the mp3 dont care about bumps....
