JoeMcLaughlin 07-06-2005, 07:47 PM I've had a lot of price requests so here you go: Kosmic Kolors charges from $500 up for a paint job. My paint job is $1500. Kosmic Kolors is not doing the hull. I had the hull trued by Ronnie Saner so no paint needed:) Kosmic Kolors paints just about anything. I checked out a Harley and a couple of superjets Kosmic Kolors had painted before I dropped off my XPL hull.

I plan on the re-assembly efforts with kungfu grip Jay and Dan the electrical master. The short chamber pipes are down at Ryell's. The only loose ends I have are the carbs and the seat. My Novi carbs are on Ebay right now. I will be getting a new set of type F carbs. Jay is going to fabricate the mount for the HX seat. Oh ya, I need to order some mats and a HX seat cover from Hydroturf. Right now I have two engines ready to go. If all goes well this XPL should be tuned and ready to race by Benicia.

JoeMcLaughlin 07-09-2005, 11:50 PM I picked up my XPL hull today. Tomorrow the assembly begins with some help from Jay and Dan. With a little luck this ski will be 90% done by the end of tomorrow.

It does look good and adds a very custom look to the ski. I do not think I have ever seen another steering system like it. The hydroturf should be here this week,, I hope. Jay is coming over this weekend, we will get the mats in & seat cover on. I need to give Tim at Novi a call tomorrow and see how the carbs are coming along. With this nice paint job on the upper deck it sure makes the scratches below the bond line stand out. Any tips on getting those cleaned up. I would think some buffing compound would do the job. I am not worried about making it perfect just calm it down a bit.

JoeMcLaughlin 07-25-2005, 10:29 PM Hydro Turf HX Seat and diamond cut mats just came in today. They will be installed tomorrow. The new 48MM Novi carbs came in and look very nice with this ski. The lord mounts went out to be welded and will be back tomorrow. Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day. This XPL may make it to Benicia:)

JoeMcLaughlin 08-04-2005, 02:08 AM I took the XPL to the Benicia race in Cali and slipped it in the water Saturday for a test run. I found a few hoses that I still needed to clamped but the XPL holds water and runs:) The carbs were a little off and I did not feel like fighting the waves to dial the carbs at Benicia.
Today I took the XPL out to Lacamas lake and spent some time dialing in the carbs. This XPL is ready to rumble now.
