As you know on the older Polaris craft you need to split the electrical box in order to remove the wiring for the engine.
For eons we have been cutting the wires to the box, roughly 5 inches beyond the box. Be sure to disconnect the battery when cutting, repairing or working with the electrical system. We then install Sea Doo waterproof connectors (easy installation) so the next time you need to replace a stator, remove the engine or replace a sensor all you need to do is pull apart your waterproof connector and no splitting the box.
