I bought a 1996 Wave Venture 1100 this spring. We knew it would need some work but wrenching on this thing is getting old! So far the record is a day and a half of use before something goes wrong. To date, I've replaced the intake and impeller ducts, all rear barings and seals, oil pump, all starter parts, head and many misc. hoses etc. The last thing to go wrong is that it would run for about 10 minutes and then just die... no spark... would turn over just wouldn't fire. After waiting about 15 minutes or so it would fire right up again... but only for 10 minutes.... then dead again...etc. Prior to complete death, I ran it a home (with a hose attached) and it did the same thing only in shorter time spans. At one point I pulled the plugs and turned it over... no spark. I tried a few minutes later and had spark but very faint. A short time later had good spark but then it went away again and never came back. I was told it was the rectifier... so I bought a new one and changed it... still no spark... any ideas? In an unrelated subject... my display comes on when it first starts... everything apears to work fine.. speedometer, gauges etc. but it goes blank after a couple minutes... if you let off the gas quickly it pops back up for a little while then goes out again.
