Loss In Top End Speed After Water In Fuel

I have a 2000 SeaDoo GTX, and last year, a friend took the jetski out and after putting gas in it, forgot to screw the gas cap back on. It was then ridden, and while riding, took water into the fuel tank. After draining the tank, and putting fuel back in, it seemed to work fine...for the most part. The only difference was that the top end speed (used to be able to hit 60 with one rider) is now only about 45 mph. We kept expecting it to clear up, but it never did. Nor did it get worse. No other symptoms, but it started with the water in the tank.

Any suggestions on what could be replaced to fix this problem?

You need to re-buld or at least clean out the carbs. Water in there will keep fuel from flowing properly.

Also, when you frained and changed out the tank gas, did you empty and clean out the water seperator bowl as well?

Thanks for the tips, but I was under the impression that it was fuel injected??
