These posts were so old I just had do something. My poor old 650 will hopefully be up and running soon with some new to it engine and pump goodies. Does anyone have any horror stories of running a higher compression 701 head on a 650?

That would definetely liven up the old ski. Unfortuantely I don't think a new motor is in the budget at this time. The 650 did well chasing barges and tour boats and charging a few small rapids back on the Snake River. I have not been riding for the past few years and just hope to get it back on the water.

A pipe, head, and MSD will wake it up big time. I had a Coffman pipe on a 633cc a few years back and it worked well. The Factory B pipe is a great pipe, the best but they get top $$$ used. Just about any head will help and you should be able to find them used easily. Even a milled stock head. The MSD CDI is a no brainer.

I have a Coffman pipe and higher compression head waiting for install, but not the MSD. How much should I expect to pay for a used piece?

Around 100 bucks used. I would not buy one used. You can pick them up new for $160/$170. Also, the other aftermarket CDI units out there are not the same. As far as I know the MSD CDI is the only one that has a different timing curve. That different timing curve kicks butt.

lets not forget the most important mod of any ski or boat.... The impeller!!!

Keep an eye out for an old skat 9/17 or give dave at impros a call and he will get you the correct pitch impeller for the mods you have done on your boat.

And wetwolf.com sells stubby cones that add a bit of thrust you can feel for not a lot of dough.

What size jet should I run in a 650 Superjet with an aftermarket pipe?
