Has any one had a problem with the 4tec engines not charging the battery?
I had the blinking light coming on occasionally on the gauges but no warning info ever displayed, finally the 12 volt low warning started to flash , I checked the battery voltage and it was 12.5 volts, with the engine running it stays the same so I assume the charging system is malfunctioning.
I cleaned all the ground connections and the battery connections plus changed the rectifier, still not charging.
I can't locate a book to do a stator test, and I don't have any bad fuses.
Ironically I know another person who is having the same issue with his wake board edition, so I am wondering if there is a trend with the 4tec engines and if so what is the usual cause for this.
any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

for any one who experiences this issue I will tell you that it was intermittent at first with just a blinking light on the gauges, then it went full bore to 12 volt low flashing on the info center.
I just located the problem , it was a bad plug on the 3 yellow wire harness where it attaches to the engine block next to the oil filter, I noticed a slight discoloration of one of the yellow wires and when I unplugged the connector it was all corroded and melted internally, after replacing the connector everything seems to be working properly.

well Dan I put a lot of hours on my skies so I guess that is to be expected, I average about 25 hours on the clock each month, and about 50 miles a day 3 days a week, And I ride the stuffing out of them as you know.
Business has been great and it is finally slowing down as the boating season comes to an end in most climates accept for here, our water is still in the low 80's and the air is in the mid 80's but it is gradually cooling off so by christmass I will be wearing a sweat shirt when I ride,, lol.
