GeneSPX 03-16-2004, 04:05 PM nsxxtreme, with a quick glance, here's what I found that separates the SX from the SXi. There may be more differences that someone more familiar with Kawasaki jet skis could point out. The 750SX has a single carburator as you can see by clicking this URL: http://www.buykawasaki.com/scripts/ImgServ.exe/convert?ilFN=e:\epcimages\C15\C1511\E1611.TIF&ilIF=P&ilSC=25&ilIV=0&ilBR=0 In 1993, the 750SXi didn't exist. The 750SXi has a double carb system as you can see by clicking this URL: http://www.buykawasaki.com/scripts/ImgServ.exe/convert?ilFN=e:\epcimages\C16\C1636\E1611A.TIF&ilIF=P&ilSC=25&ilIV=0&ilBR=0 and in 96, the750SX no longer existed. In 1995, both the 750SX and 750SXi were still in production being both the first year for the 750SXi and the last for the 750SX (where the 750SX was still running off the single carburator. From what I can see, Kawasaki changed the model name from 750SX to 750SXi when they went to a double carburator system. We both learned something today. If you need further help researching things out, just ask. We both learned something today. If you need further help researching things out, just ask. Going off of the info you just posted, I am assuming the SXI has a bit more power and better throttle response than the SX, because it has 2 carbs? GeneSPX 03-16-2004, 05:18 PM Most likely. 2 carbs are better than one. 8) nsxxtreme 03-17-2004, 12:24 AM Thank You. If that is it I wonder if any one makes a dual intake manifold for the SX. I know they did for the 550. Both skis are 100 miles away from where I live so I have to drive out to check them out. Everyone I talk to says buy a super jet. Are the 701's that much better? GeneSPX 03-17-2004, 08:36 PM I've been told the same thing many times also (when I stated that I would also like to get a standup ski... yet still keep the one I have). CPRman will be able to tell you more about superjets, but if you're still interrested in the Kawasakis, and they're about the same distance apart (travel time), I'd go for the SXi. Also, when you go to buy a PWC from a private owner, here's a few pointers you should use: http://www.jetskinews.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=94 (just click the URL) nsxxtreme 03-18-2004, 09:08 AM Thanks, If I went by that list I don't think I would have ever sold my skis. I take good care of my skis and keep my reciepts. But I do all the service myself. Also I don't think I would let anyone take it for a test ride, who's to say they would come back? It's to much work to drag the thing into a shop exspecially when most buyers are flakey at best. I would agree though you need to pay close attention to what you are buying. Most skis I have looked at are horribly cared for. | |
