Help...need advice

Rode a stand up this weekend for the first time in years. forgot how much fun it was. Well now i would like to buy two of them but don't want to spend alot...maybe 2-4 grand...
I would be happy to do work on them over the winter so they do not have to be perfect. One of them will be mine and i will want it for freestyle so i am sure there are many extras i will want...the other will be for the friends and wife to ride.
Where can I find two in decent shape and what should I watch out for.

watch craigslist... you can usually find good deals on stand-ups there... where are you located? i have a buddy that is selling one of his 94 550sx's that has some goodies on it and is in incredible shape
