Question about my SLT 780

I have a Polaris SLT 780 that was given to me. My Nephew took it out a few day's ago and apparantly was jumping wake behind a wake board boat. He told me that he went approximately 4 ft in the air and came back down and hit the water pretty hard. He said that it then died. He said that he could could only get half throughtle out of it after that to limp it to the dock. Now when i try to crank it with the choke out or in wherever it does not stay running. It will crank run for approximately one second then die. It has also back fired twice. It is a fresh motor. It was refreshed approximately a month ago and only has maby 4 hrs of running time. What would cause this?

They have been relly helpful. Have you checked the spark plug wires? Sounds to me like something came off relating to fuel? Hope you can get some more help.
