WisconsinChris_Riley 06-18-2003, 06:49 PM Where's the cool riding spots for jetski and pwc here? jcm996 07-13-2003, 08:16 PM A few lakes I have been to Cedar Lake, Manitowoc County nice lake with a good access and a "bar" with a sand beach and swimming area to dock at Pigeon lake, Manitowoc County nice, but bad public access and usually crowded Wilke Lake, Manitowoc County sucks extremly weedy even in the middle max depth is only 20 feet of nice clear water. Bullhead Lake, Manitowoc County - No wake allowed Also all Manitowoc County lakes have a no wake time from 6pm to 11am Fox Lake, Dodge County- Nice big lake, not very crowded and there are 4 bars/resorts that you can dock at ( as long as you buy sodas from them). ZBSTX15F 01-16-2004, 11:56 PM Legend Lake in Keshena (north of Shawano) is a really nice place to ride. The lake is 6 miles long and the scenery is wonderful. It's a very good sized lake with lots of room to really open up a ski. I've been vacationing up there for nearly 30 years now and it's one of my favorite places. GiDEON 08-11-2004, 11:30 AM If you get a chance roll up to sister bay (door county) on the peninsala. Its amazing up there. The water can be a bit brisk but its well worth it, the water is a bit warmer on the bay side. Also it is right near peninsala state park which has an excellent sandy beach. Besides all the scenery you can expect to see some good waves on a regular basis. There is a nice flow of 50' boats rolling in and out even when mother nature isn't providing anything. If you do go up there, be sure not to miss JJ's Bar and Grill, its right on hwy 47 and has the best chips and salsa I have found ANYWHERE. As far as Legend lake goes, I have been there quite a few times myself, the scenery is great...but ZERO for waves, also be sure to be on your BEST behavior, there are a lot and i mean a lot of DNR patrols on that lake. Its really best if you have a place to stay right on the lake and like to take in the scenery. I wouldn't recomend making a special trip to drop in at Legend. If you in the area and need a place to drop in and just let it rip, I would recommend Shawano Lake (its just one big circle) or Loon Lake, has a nice island in the middle...that is fun to explore and has a nice sand bar on it. Finally if you are in the area with some sit downs, I would definitley recommend dropping in on lake winnebago or somewhere near. Winnebago (the largest lake contained in one state 45miles long) can be green at certain times of the year, but is also home to beautiful High Cliff state park. The best part about taking a sit down there is the connection to the Wolff River, you can take the river through a good portion of the state, hitting many lakes along the way. Not to mention a lot of great river restaurants, and there are places to fill up your gas take along the way. There is no "no wake" in effect during week days, this includes friday, so try to hit the river during the week, and fly down the snake like turns on pure glass water, its amazing!!! sixfoot 01-23-2006, 10:06 PM The Winnebago Chain is a blast on sitdown machines. Me and a friend put 70+ miles on my machine riding the chain of lakes and up the Wolf river past Fremont. I still have yet to see the North end of Winnebago as it is so huge. Can be rough and boat traffic on the river can get hairy but when you open her up on the river it turns into a trail. Great fun. Lots of places to stop and eat/gas up too :D alexk243 03-06-2006, 11:20 PM Twin lakes in wisconsin, but right by Illinois border. It is a very calm lake with a free launch/beach area alexk243 03-06-2006, 11:20 PM Lake Geneva is also really good if you are interested in a rougher ride with more waves on the weekend js550rider 06-08-2010, 10:56 PM La Crosse Wisconsin mississippi river but more specific the black river its wide open and has a beach to drop in at and hang out | |
