hi guys, new to the forum of course. I have the chance to buy a 1985 js550 and a 1985 440, both Kawasakis. Anyways, the guy has had them since new and is getting rid of them because of age. About the skis, the 55 runs but i need to do a compression test on it. Does anyone know what psi i should be looking for on the 550? Also, anything else i should know before buying?
The 440 doesn't run. It was the ski his wife used, but apparently there was a part that corroded and it caused problems with the engine. All the parts are there but it would definitely need to be rebuilt.
The package comes with a double trailer that is in pretty good shape. All for $1000, but i think if i offered him $800 he would take it. Does that sound like a good deal? Thanks for the help and comments.

Compression should be about 130+ on the 550 if it was new... As to the price, it's high for a craft that doesnt run...

I would offer like $700.00

the 550 does run. its the 440 that doesn't. However the $1000 asking price includes both the 550 and the 440, as well as the double trailer. Is that still too much for everything? thanks, old
