Default Randy Jungwirth - Rider Profile

Who are you?:
My name is Randy Jungwirth.

Where are you from?
I'm from Portland Or.

What's your age?
45+

Marital Status?
Not married, but have an awesome and very understanding girlfriend.

What do you do exactly, (be very specific, list titles, events, awards, or anything related to your skill).
I do a multitude of things, I will list a few.
Contract labor for Polaris industries, I am available as technical support for any novice, expert & professional Polaris racer around the globe.
As owner of Watcon, I tune, assemble, and maintain competition equipment for many racers around the world. Yamaha & Kawasaki watercraft included.
Watcon.com. I attempt to offer high quality tools, including tuning and diagnostic items, hard to find products and specialty equipment that will make a racer or mechanic's job easier.
Technical and tuning support for Watcon customers and private race teams.

What makes you different from others in the sport?
I'm no different than anybody else, being successful in any business is all about hard work and dedication.

What are your strongest and weakest points?
I think my strongest points are my diagnostic and tuning abilities, my weakest point is definitely charging enough for services. I think this sport is about having fun and the extreme level of competition, unfortunately it is a very expensive hobby!

How do you do what you do?
I'm not sure what you mean here, "how do you do, etc".
I will take a shot at the answer for you. I'm not afraid to work long hard hours and spend countless hours testing products and combinations, I wouldn't be able to complete many of the projects without assistance of my development/ test riders. (They know who they are). These guys are willing to work long hours and test all kinds of wacky ideas.

How long have you been doing it for?
I bought my first jet-ski in 1983 and have been in business since 1989.

Why do you do what you do?
The challenge is what keeps me motivated, there is always something new or some combination of components that just needs to be refined. I like to see anything with an improvement in performance, if you can gain 100 rpm or pull a longer wheelie that is a good thing!

Was there someone or something that inspired you to get into it?
Kevin Jansen from Beaverton Honda introduced me to jet skiing, I had a stock 83 550 that was a ton of fun, we used to ride year round. Then I bought a 440 Superstock, it was blazing fast for about 30 minutes then it would seize! I eventually figured out how to keep it running, by then I was hooked!

Most important things in your life?
Most important things, Lets try a few of these... Honesty, integrity, having fun without going to jail, being able to help others.

Owned PWCs past and present:
I have owned too many watercraft to list, but no matter how many I own I never have time to ride them.

Favorite Ride Location(s):
The beach is my favorite riding spot.

Film/Movie:
I don't have a favorite movie, but anything with Cameron Diaz is good enough for me.

Band/Music:
This will scare you! Great White.

Color:
Favorite color is Red.

Dream Car:
My dream car, BMW mini -cooper with a ton of hp.

Do you have a Message/Statement? (Say whatever you like, this is your chance to take the "mic" and shout one out.)
I would like to express my appreciation to the racers that have worked hard to succeed. It's worth the long hours to help somebody that is working towards a goal and isn't afraid of a little hard work.
